Determining Winners with Ties and Medals

To clarify a situation that may arise this upcoming Sunday during our 1st Annual Volley Fest tournament – if there is ever a tie in record in your pool, winners will be determined by the following in this order:

1. Sets given up

Example: Team A and Team B have the same record. Team A gave up 1 set during their matches while Team B gave of three sets. Team A would be identified as the winner.

2. Point Differential

Example: If Team A and Team B have the same record and gave up the same number of sets, how many points they won by in each set will determine the winner. Team A won by a total of 27 points while Team B won by 48 points. Team B will be identified as the winner.

If anyone needs further explanation or has any concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.

The winner and runner up of each division will be awarded with gold and silver medals at the end of the tournament.

Team Submissions Form

We have added the Team Submission form to the Coordinator Portal.

Please make sure to submit your teams by Jan. 16th. As a reminder, once teams are submitted players will no longer be eligible for a refund if they back out. We strongly encourage you to verify rosters before submission.

Once rosters are finalized, please have either the coach of each team or yourself submit the form. From there OC Youth Sports will build and roster teams in TeamSnap and place them in their appropriate division. All teams must have a coach to be eligible.

If you have any issues, please email [email protected] and include the name of your school in the subject line (e.g. Coordinator – Bonita Canyon).
